1 - Project Engineer

Twin City Sheet Metal has grown exponentially the last five years and we plan on continuing that growth. To help facilitate our growth, we are looking to add another Project Engineer to our management team. This will both be a backup and support of our current engineering, estimating, and project management team. We are seeking a candidate who wants to work and stay in Maine and that is looking for long term employment in a challenging job with open ended opportunity for growth and career satisfaction.

We are seeking a hardworking, fast learning, and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic, common sense, and a desire for long-term employment. Ideally the candidate will be proficient in CAD, with BIM and Revit a plus. They will be expected to become proficient with our estimating and fabrication programs. The position is based in our Brewer Maine office. It will require travel occasionally within the state for engineering and project management purposes. Below is a list of some of the major areas in which the Project Engineer will be involved.

Engineering / Design:
• Design ductwork systems for design build projects
• Troubleshoot issues in field with equipment (hoods, fans, etc…)
• Ensure ductwork systems meet all applicable codes
• Perform field investigations to aid in ductwork system design
• Create CAD drawings of custom work to be fabricated
• Work closely with Engineers, Architects, Mechanical Contractors, Owners, and General Contractors.

Estimating:
• Researching and getting plans and specs for future work to be bid
• Estimate and price our portion of work from plans and specs
• Work up design, estimate and price Design Build type projects
• Monitor and follow up on bid status
• Maintain and operate estimating program
• Research and price any purchased equipment and materials needed
• Prepare submittals

Project Management:
• Coordinate “field” manpower and order supplies and materials for projects won
• Supervise, monitor and train field personnel
• Safety Management
• Provide job site documentation such as submittals, SDS books, OEM’s, etc.
• Weekly job reviews, meetings, scheduling
• Assure projects are completed timely and profitably
• Ensure that jobs are being installed per the plans and specs

This will be a very dynamic position requiring a person who can multi task, think on their feet, and has the ability to take on and solve problems. 2 - Sheet Metal Worker - Field

We have openings for field mechanics with 10 years plus direct experience, and Field Installers with 3 years plus experience. Both positions require OSHA construction 10 course passing within 3 months of full-time employment. Experienced Field Mechanics – 10 years direct experience with HVAC ductwork installation. This position is a job site working foreman position. Travel may be required depending on job location. Employee needs to be familiar with all phases of the trade. Duties to include, but not limited to:
• Be very motivated, extremely safety conscious and actively address safety issues
• Provide job site coordination, ordering and scheduling of shop fabricated products, and interact with Mechanicals and general contractors.
• Read and interpret specifications and blueprints, layout, assemble, install sheet metal products and equipment related to commercial and residential construction HVAC systems.
• Train, supervise, and mentor installers and helpers when present on site.

Experienced Field Installers – 3 years direct experience with HVAC ductwork installation. This position is a job site installation position. Travel may be required depending on job location. Employee needs to be familiar with all phases of the trade. Duties to include, but not limited to:
• Be very motivated, extremely safety conscious and actively address safety issues.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layout, assemble, install sheet metal products and equipment
• Installing ductwork and other metal parts to include measuring, cutting, bending, and forming metal components.
• Identify material and layout, work well with coworkers and other trades
• Take instruction and be able to work independently.

Entry Level Positions. Twin City Sheet Metal will provide on-the job training for entry level workers seeking to learn the trade. Applicants need to be motivated to learn a career, have an attention to detail and are safety conscious. Duties to include, but not limited to:

3 - Sheet Metal Fabricator - Shop

Twin City Sheet Metal is looking to add an experienced shop fabricator position. This position will enhance and supplement our current shop team tasked with producing ductwork and other related HVAC products. The employee we seek will be able to hit the ground running with minimal instruction.

Two years direct sheet metal production shop experience is required for this position to include knowledge and use of sheet metal fabrication equipment, have existing knowledge of duct and HVAC component fabrication and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Employees are expected to be very safety conscious, have a good attitude, be able to lift at least 50 pounds, be willing to learn and adapt, have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and to have respect for coworkers and customers.

The position is located in Brewer Maine. This is a full time 40 hour per week position with opportunities for overtime. A variety of benefits are available after a wait period including life, disability, dental, and health insurances, paid holidays and vacations. Pay will depend on experience.
